Maybe they wouldn't have to charge $40/yr for an app that (even if all of their claims were true) would be worth a one time purchase of like $15-20 tops if they didn't waste so much advertising. There's no good reason for them to need to sponsor so many podcasts or youtube videos.

You don't need an anti virus or anti malware program at all on modern Macs. They make misleading or outright false claims on their web site about what their program can do and the app wants to run in the menubar 24x7 for no good reason (wasting more of your precious memory).Īlso I'm going to go ahead and assume they use every shitty dark pattern that Windows anti-viruses use to keep the end user terrified enough to think they need to keep paying their subscription.
